If necessary, the calendar will be updated daily. As we finalize the exact routes and city destinations in the next few weeks, we will show any corrections on the calendar. We will also ad links on each of the dates in the calendar that will give details of the exact departure place in each of the cities. We will have a phone number that you can call to check on any last minute changes. It would be great if each club president would be the point of contact for all riders from each club. We want you to join us for any portion of the ride. That is what this trip is about. Of course the logistics of riding more than one day will entail lodging or camping or whatever and each person is responsible for their own accommodations. When you join, we are asking for a donation of $25.00 by check to the NASCAR Foundation. We will have forms with us that can be filled out each morning when we start. We can also fill out forms as we stop along the route. Each person making a donation will have their name placed in our web site as a donor and will get a decal for your atv that says you participated in the 1st Annual Portland to Portland ATV Run. We are already getting great response from clubs in Wisconsin, Quebec and Maine. Information is just being sent to other state clubs at this time. There will be upcoming articles about this trip in numerous publications. PLEASE become a part of this historic ride. Everyone can help shed light on the importance of this great outdoor activity. By participating we can show our strength to groups who desire to close our national forest to all but a handful of people. This strength of numbers will keep us in the limelight so politicians and forest personal will continue to realize the importance of atving. With your help, we can show those who make final decisions on our future riding areas, that we can protect our environment and at the same time enjoy this sport. We can also demonstrate how vital atving has become to the economy of many tourist destinations throughout North America. |
